ABOUT US

Ryan and James met onsite while doing site carpentry for a modular trailer company in 2000. This sparked a life-long friendship and partnership. They worked closely as site supervisor and sub trade meanwhile developing and streamlining their process to improve quality, timelines, and finished products. Over their 21 years of professional and personal relationship, they came together to form Broson Contracting to create beautiful, unique, and functional designed spaces in the Okanagan Valley."

Ryan Wilson

Ryan began his career in the construction industry delivering supplies to commercial construction and home building sites. From there he started doing carpentry for modular trailers and shortly after took on the role of site carpenter/assistant site supervisor then site supervisor at the age of 22 for Greenboro Custom Homes.

From a young age he learned that timeliness and accuracy of your supply chain are as important as the trades employed, the quality of the product used and his communication to the people involved to get his project completed on time. Having 22 years of experience in the construction industry he has encompassed project management and site supervision in new home builds, residential additions, renovations, and complex commercial renovations and repairs.

With over 3+50 new homes built valued from $500,000 to $3,000,000 and 40 plus renovations and additions valued from $125,000 to $600,0000. Ten of these projects were Alberta SAM Award finalists during his employment with Astoria Renovations.

During these years Ryan was the project manager for the Mike Holmes show in High River and was involved with the restoration and remediation for more than 20 plus homeowners who lost everything in the devastating flood of 2012.

His commercial management projects have ranged from small office enhancements of $5,000 to large-scale refurbishing and custom builds valued between $75,000 to $1,500,000.

Ryan has created a great foundation of knowledge and experience in working with clients, trades, architects, designers, other structural professionals, property managers, municipal bylaws, and building codes.

James Brown

James is a Red Seal carpenter of 22 years . At the age of 23 James decided to start his own residential contracting company where he has learned the importance of customer communication, reliability and project budgeting.

During that time while still operating his general contracting company he has also owned and operated two successful home building companies in Alberta with values of homes ranging from $600,000 to $2,000,000.

It was in Alberta where James met his wife and started their family and after 25 years decided to move back to his roots in the Okanagan and start building on the success of his previous businesses.

James did an addition to our cabin this spring and we could not be happier with the results. It wasn’t an easy job as the existing cabin is super old and NOT square. He was patient with our many questions and built exactly what we had envisioned. Not only that, he kept in great communication (we don’t live nearby), kept a very clean worksite every day and finished in less time that he had anticipated. His work was very well done, he’s great to deal with and the project was done on time and on budget.Read More

I had the pleasure of dealing with James and Ryan for our large basement suite renovation and these guys were top notch. We had to gut and redo everything from top to bottom, so it was a very large project. I actually usually hate dealing with any trades, as our experience has not been positive. Broson was the complete opposite. We found them to be kind and courteous, high attention to detail, full quote with no surprises, excellent communicators, on time, clean, knowledgeable, hardworking, and so much more. This is by far the best experience I have had dealing with any contractor period. I would not only recommend them to friends and family, but I will be using them again on my next project.Read More

We had a full basement suite renovation. James & his team were amazing. From the moment we first contracted Broson we felt at ease. They are all a reflection of how a great a company should be. There are a lot of so call contractors, but James was outstanding with his attention to detail & genuine care for not only the job but myself. I would highly recommend James and his team and would not hesitate to call for any other jobs I have.Read More

From the first contact until the completion of our renovation, Ryan and his team were fantastic! Ryan gave us a fair quote in a timely manner. Throughout our project, Ryan was an effective communicator and kept us informed of current and next steps. Ryan discussed any possible alterations with us and there were no hidden costs. He was very reliable and skilled. His attention to detail was notable. Ryan managed his sub-trades well. One of his sub-trades did some work that was not according to specifications, and Ryan took the initiative to have it redone at no additional cost to ensure it was up to his high standards. Ryan always ensured our home was clean and tidied at the end of the day. After our project was completed, one of our faucets was dripping (manufacturer defect) and Ryan worked with us to ensure this was properly fixed. We highly recommend Ryan and his team for your next home project!Read More

To me a good contractor is judged on these categories, communication, Quoting process, Reliability and Skill. Communication - The communication was always within same day and for much of the time within 4 hours of me asking a question. This level of communication was before the quote, during the quote and after the deposit was paid. He promised to start the first day of work on a Tuesday but weather caused a delay at another job site and he called me the day before to let me know. It was nice to be informed instead of wondering why a contractor never showed up. I was away for a few days, he sent texts and he took pictures to keep me up to date on the progress. Quote process - During the quoting process he made it a point to look take into account all the things that could go wrong due to the condition of the structure underneath since it was hidden until demolition occurred. Thankfully the structure underneath was fine and the price and time he took to complete was exactly as quoted. Reliability - He said he would start work on a certain day and be finished within a week of starting. He started 1 day late but called me the day before to inform me he couldn't make it the next day. Other than that minor change he came as promised, demolished everything and rebuilt everything. As promised, on time and on budget. Skill - Everything looks and feels very solid. Visually it looks great.Read More
